Dave Weckl Studio

Working with Okan Ersan, mixing his latest CD, has been a wonderful experience, if not an education!

I am completely impressed and inspired by his Compositional skills at mixing ethnic music (and instruments) from his part of the world, with Western jazz/fusion music.

My goal was to capture his vision of this ‘mixture of cultures’ as best I could in mixing this project.

He surrounded himself with great musicians from Turkey, and I especially enjoyed hearing these great musicians play his music.

The writing has depth, and the performances are stellar (I wish I could play guitar like that!).

I think the thing that is most impressive is the versatility in Okan’s writing. This CD encompasses many styles, ranging from the ‘ethnic fusion’ mentioned above, to beautiful ballads, to a vocal pop tune!

Okan is really presenting something quite different for us all to listen to, and hopefully you will treat yourself to his music!
